GET STARTED
FOR GRADES 6 TO 9

Interactive STEM Programs

Our interactive platform blends STEM education with Artificial Intelligence (AI) to take students from grades 6 to 9 on a virtual journey through flight, environment, into space and so much more.

Cultivating 21st century skills through virtual education

Using Illumia Labs STEM programs, students will build strong problem solving skills through collaboration, critical thinking, communication and creativity.

Then, they get to apply these newly acquired skills to solve real-world challenges grounded in science, technology, engineering and math content.

Put your students on the fast track to success.

Explore Illumia Labs, where students learn through feedback, problem solving and collaboration.

a. Microphone, headset, VR goggles & webcam: You need a microphone in order to connect to the frame, and we strongly recommend headphones to help reduce feedback or echo. A webcam is required, and virtual reality goggles are optional but do enhance the experience.

b. Web Browsers:

  •  Mac, iPhone, iPad – use latest Safari browser version
  • PC, Chromebook, Android – Use the latest Google Chrome browser version
  • Virtual Reality – Use Firefox for HTC Vive, or Valve Index; Use the Oculus browser for the Oculus Quest

c. Internet Connection:  Frame requires a broadband wired or wireless connection. Minimum bandwidth is 3 Mbps (up/down) and recommended is 10 Mbps (up/down). The more people in your Frame, the higher connectivity speed is required for a smooth experience.

d. Operating System:

  • Mac, iPhone, iPad – OSX or iOS, iPad 0S13+
  • Android – Android 8 or later
  • PC – Windows 7 or above

To book a program, please email us at info@vrcity.ca or call 1-431-668-8886. We will schedule you for a tour of VR City and our metaverse, so you can experience the modules and interactive experiences first hand. With our wide array of interactive modules, it’s important to get orientated to how the platform works. We’ll work with you to determine how best to deliver programs to your students and guests. This custom-tailored approach ensures your experience of VR City is perfect for your needs.

We excel at:

  • After school and weekend programs
  • Virtual school field trips
  • Virtual programs for summer or spring camps
  • Interactive guest experiences
  • Tours and rental augmentation

The first step in a booking is to get a tour of VR City which we can do quickly, often within a day. After the tour, we’ll work with you and your team and can usually be ready to deliver an existing course in just a few days (based on availability). However, if you choose to curate and tailor a course for more specific needs, it can take a week to a month to deliver the course depending on the level of customization being requested.

It depends on how the materials are used and presented. We know that many teachers and students have reported back close to 40 hours of learning when combined with a class and group interaction. Individually, there are hours of exploration and learning available with just the Skyleus virtual assistant.

Currently, standard courses have a limit of 15 students at once. However, upon request we can  accommodate groups of about 100. Educational partners may be limited by the number of devices (laptops, desktops or VR headsets) they have available.

The security of user and student information is one of our highest priorities. All students must complete online privacy forms before entering the metaverse to ensure we have permissions in place before beginning the program. Once online, all user information is encrypted and protected.
